Papertrey Ink Make it Monday Challenge "From Black and White to Color" (9/5/16)

Today I'm joining in on the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday Challenge, "From Black and White to Color."  I used the Make it Market "Don't Forget to Write" small flowers and stems stamps.  The sentiment is from the "Tea Time" stamp set.    There's only a small amount of color, using reds and pinks, plus some green along the stems.

Papertrey Ink Make it Monday Challenge, August 29, 2016

Today I'm joining in PTI's Challenge, "Ombre' Cluster Stamping."   I decided to make a humorous card using a cat and a sentiment from PTI's new "Superstition" stamp set.  All three lines of cats and the sentiment pieces are stamped with dark to light inks.

The sentiment:  "Something About You Seems Familiar."

Papertrey Ink Make it Monday Challenge

Today I'm joining the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday Cover Plate Die Challenge.  I made the tag using PTI's "Stitched Tag Die." .  I also used the "Deco Cover Plate die."  To decorate the tag I used four different colored card stock pieces and die cut in the corners.  Then I randomly placed the colors to make a Art Deco pattern

Flip Flops and Roses Design Shop....Scam Artist Alert! www.flipflopsandrosesdesign.com

I ordered five items from the owner of this shop.  Five days later I emailed her to ask when they might be mailed and that's the only time I learned that she didn't have them in stock!  Since I wanted the items I waited until the next week when she said they would be mailed.

She sent me a shipment email which indicated that the items had not been mailed.....and that was for four additional days!

When I finally got my order, four out of five items were wrong.

I ordered the gold tone pendants and she sent silver.  Even the receipt included shows the item number do not match.  The Spellbinders website had the silver for $3.99.  I paid her $9.99 each for gold.  I also ordered a gold tone heart locket.  I received the silver.  The fact that she took money for items she didn't have, then substituted them for cheaper items.

Obviously, a bait and switch game.

Buyer Beware!

Papertrey Ink Make it Monday Challenge

Today I'm joining in on the Papertrey Ink challenge to create something using sentiment strips.  I made "Love You" note cards using the Papertrey Ink Make It Market "Don't Forget to Write" note card frame and card dies.   I typed the sentiment on my computer, cutting the strip to fit in the corner.  The sentiment is grounded by  the bird and branch die cuts.

Stamp-A-Faire Farewell

I loved looking and learning from all the designers on Papertrey Ink.   The Faire encouraged me to try my hand at newer things.  My favorite is the mini house tag from the Papertrey Ink's petite places stamp and die set.

Child's Card with Papertrey Ink's Stitch Dies and stamps

My latest creation using Papertrey Ink's stitch dies.  I love using these on felt but today I have  a card for a child.  The stitched pocket has a smaller tag with the stamped sentiment. "Always in my thoughts with Love"

Papertrey Ink's July Challenge

Today I am joining in on the Papertrey Ink Challenge.  I am thrilled to see they added a "Sweet Shop" to the Tiny Town basic die.  It's one of my favorite sets!  You can see their new products on the Papertrey Ink blog link at www.papertreyink.com.

Sorry to say I gave away my recent creations,  so I can only use two  older photos.  But I am entering a Barn that I made using the Tiny Town basic. die set.  I used a dark red card stock, cut a larger white piece of card stock for the roof and embossed it to show lines and dots (like wood).  I cut a rectangle and strips of white to make the door.  The roof is tied on with twine and a heart wood button.

Papertrey Ink Wool Key Fobs

I'm joining the Papertrey Ink Release Challenge..   I love their stitching dies and look forward to seeing new releases like these for June 2016.  These projects are by Heather Nicholls.
Below are just a few of the items I made using their stitching dies.  I used the Papertrey Ink Key Fob die and the Medallion II die to make these.  They're all made with Papertrey Ink felt (100% wool).

"Happy Everything" and "Happy Life" Cards

I've joined the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.  My creations are below.

For my friends and family members whose exact birthday dates I can't remember, I'm sending "Happy Everything" cards.   I decided to make them with a subtle color palate.

I also made a "Happy Life" card using the same dies, inks and stamps.  However, I used the Papertrey Ink Phrase Play die, the word "Life."

Crown Basket for baby showers, birthdays, and all special occasions.

I made this crown basket using a Burger King crown as a template.  This is an inexpensive, easy craft to do and can be used for baby showers, birthdays, Easter, Valentine's Day and all occasions.  See my video below.

Tilda Sewing House Kit "Sample"

I bought the Tilda Sewing House Kit recently and decided to make a sample before using the fabric.  I never quilted in my life and haven't used a sewing machine in over 35 years.  So I gave it a shot.  There were a few difficulties, but the biggest was the edging.  I did the best I could.

Mostly the short cuts I had to take were on the front cover.  I couldn't make the extremely narrow pieces for the window and edging for window and door.  I used a button instead of making the round fabric-covered disc for the flower bush.

The inside is pretty much like the pattern.  I didn't use the heart pattern but used a heart is made before.  Also, I forgot to make a strap to cover the scissors to hole them in.  The cute metal sewing machine is from Hobby Lobby's Paper Studio line and cost only $1.50 on sale.  This was my "Student" project.

UGH!!   Somehow "Blogger" removed most of my photos!  I know I'm not alone because I've gone through Google to find out how I could retrieve them.  Unfortunately, many of my photos were older files that I deleted.  My apologies.

Altered Wooden Spools for Ribbon & Trim

I found these wooden spools at Hancock Fabrics, at a clearance price of 40-50 Cents each.  They looked awful, the wood was cracked and old looking.  Each had fabric strips or odd fibers, and most of the strips were also in bad condition, very frayed and faded.

I painted the spools and found multiple labels through Google.

Cupcake-to-Go Holders at Dollar Tree

I found these Cupcake-To-Go cupcake boxes at Dollar Tree.  They're really big, 4" tall and 4" wide, and hold a big cupcake or lots of goodies.  Perfect for birthday parties or baby showers.  They only had these two colors.  They were on those hanging strips in front of the shelves.

$1 Idea-Skull, Raven & Spider Coffin Treat Boxes (free pattern/template)

I made these Coffin Treat Boxes using Martha Stewart's free template.  The glittered skull, raven and spider came from Walmart (98 cents pkg of 24).  The skeletons fit perfectly and they are from Dollar Tree.

Tilda Toy, Flower and Cake shops (using the Corner Shop paper)

I made these three shops using the Tilda "Corner Shop" papers and embellishments in the pad.  The shops are paper mache' house boxes (the tops come off) that I got on sale in Hobby Lobby for a total of $8.  It took the longest to paint them, which I did more than once, so I could get the colors more like the Tilda paper.

Tilda Toy Store, Flower Shop and Cake Heaven (from the Corner Shop paper collection)

I recently bought the Tilda "Corner Shop" paper pad and decided to use it to make the three shops that are in the collection.   I bought three paper mache house boxes from Hobby Lobby (50% off for total of $8), some paints and dollhouse miniatures for added embellishments.

I will add my Youtube video soon.  The houses are actually in very light and creamy pastels.  It was difficult to get a true photo.
