I finally completed my Haunted Mansion Book. It actually is another one of the unfinished wood "book" boxes with a hidden drawer. The drawer is to the left of the box where the binding would be on a book.
The center portrait is actually one of those moving lenticular stickers. Very cool looking! When you look straight at it you'll see only a Victorial looking man. Turn it slightly and you see the skeleton. (click on the picture to see a larger view)
