I know there are many pet lovers out there who can identify with what I'm going through. Just this past Thursday I had a healthy, happy pet. Today she's a shadow of her former self. I'm not able to sleep.
She had some stomach distress about 4 am Friday morning and started throwing up. (not unusual for any cat). But it didn't stop there. She continued. She also didn't eat or drink. I took her to the Vet first thing Saturday. He gave her nausea medication and a shot for infection. Her only obvious issue was a mild grade temperature. But she showed distress, even when the Vet held her she "meowed" showing she was in pain. It broke my heart. I gave her a little dropper of soup every hour. She threw that up last night. She doesn't respond to me or my petting her.
Now it's Sunday morning.. She still hasn't eaten anything.
I don't know if I can take anymore of this. My two pets drowned in my house during Hurricane Katrina. When I was finally able to adopt another kitten, it had complications during a routine procedure and had to be euthanized. I almost lost my mind with grief.
Now little Reenie is sick.
Please forgive me for this long post. I am at a loss. I can't stand to see suffering in any vulnerable living thing and I'm not a stranger to death (my mom, dad and brother are gone). I'll take her back to the Vet Monday morning.
I don't know what to do.

oh angie, how heartbreaking. i am so sorry that your beloved cat is not well. i will keep you both in my prayers. oK? i don't know what else to say....
Sending a hug to ya. Will pray for a good outcome on this. Gosh it does not sound to good. Keep in mind the good life you are giving her and all the love. Pets are so much a part of our lives - it hurts so bad when they are sick or we loose them.
Maybe her time her is done because there is another little one out there that needs the love that you have to give.
I am so very sorry for those who have passed - no words can help that hurt. I wish there was something I could do to help you feel better. I hope this helps some. Sending you a hug and some prayers....your blog friend. Marcie
This is a very helpless feeling situation... Our hearts go out to you. You are doing all you know how to do...I hope the vet will be able to give you and Reenie some type of relief. Please know you have the love & of your blogger friends.
Hello Angie, my heart goes out to you. I am in a similar position although my dog (13 years) has picked up again but as the cancer is still there I know that we are on borrowed time. Your dear pet does sound very sick, but know that you have given each other a lot of love and joy in the time you have had together and be thankful to have had each other in your life. Our pets become so much part of our life and family that is just so darn hard watching them and we can't seem to do anything. I will be thinking of you.
Dear Angie,
I'm so sorry about little Reenie and don't know what to say.I hope the vet will be able to help her.
Sending hugs and prayers.
Marie
Hello
I was wondering if you are the same lady I met at JoAnns fabric on Monday? We were standing in line and we talked a little and I showed you the bird punch? You gave me the site but I didn't get the 13 in it. But I have looked at the sites and this one is wonderful. I hope you send me a email. I am so impressed. I hope your cat gets better. I have 2 so I know how you feel.
